PARK(ing) Day

September 15, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

PARK(ing) Day is an annual global event where citizens, artists and designers collaborate to transform metered parking spots into “PARK(ing)” spots – temporary public spaces.

The event will take place in Victoria Park along 1st Street between 12 and 14 Avenues S.W. from noon to 6 p.m., on Friday, September 15. Several public parking spots will be closed, all of which will be remodeled into interactive exhibits that you can explore at your own pace.

Come and see all the innovative ways a 6×4 space could be used if it wasn’t a parking spot!

Calling all innovators, artists, entrepreneurs, and creative types! Want to participate in PARK(ing) day as an exhibitor? We’re looking for exhibits that encourage interaction, like mini art galleries, science projects, crafts, music, or mini cafes.

Email your application form (available at http://www.calgary.ca/CA/cmo/Documents/Urban_Strategy/PARKing-Day-Application-Form.pdf) to kate.zago@calgary.ca.

Visit our webpage for more information and to read all the fine print: http://www.calgary.ca/CA/cmo/Pages/UrbanStrategy/Parking-Day.aspx. The deadline to apply is August 25.
