At Christmas, Lougheed House is custom-decorated differently each year by our Calgary professional interior designers who volunteer their skill and vision on our behalf. With Christmas trees, ornaments, lights, furniture, candles and decorative items throughout three floors, Lougheed House at Christmas is a popular seasonal attraction for Calgary families.
This year’s theme of “Treats and Traditions” has been artfully designed by Calgary interior designers Selina Austin, Ana Cummings, Rebekah McEwan, Swantje Macke-Monteiro, Lea Romanowski and Alison Rose.
Lougheed House, the Beltline’s hub of cultural happenings & programs, is Alberta’s most opulent Victorian mansion, a National and Provincial Historic Site, Museum and Restaurant, all on our original 2.8 acres.
This 14,000 square-foot sandstone prairie mansion was built in 1891 by Senator James Lougheed and his wife Lady Isabella. It remains one of the finest residences in Canada’s Northwest, and was the political and social hub of fast-growing Calgary until 1938.
