Chocolate Blackout Cake (Half Baked Harvest)
This is the first recipe I make from my brand new “Half Baked Harvest-Super Simple Cookbook” The Chocolate Blackout Cake is amazing, really, really good! I may not ever make any other chocolate cake recipe again!
I decided to make a short video of the process of making this cake, as I was surprised not to find one for the recipe. In fact, I could not find any of Tieghan’s iconic videos for many of the recipes in the new cook book. I could not even find a picture of the finished cake ? I don’t know about you, but I like to see what it is supposed to look like when I’m making it. If you have the book, I hope this helps you in making the cake!
What we loved so much about this chocolate cake from Half Baked Harvest, was the coffee, yes, coffee in the ingredients of this cake! It makes the chocolate really stand out!
I think this is going to be a family favourite!
I must say there is a similar recipe on her website called Simple Chocolate Birthday Cake with Whipped Chocolate Buttercream. The recipe for the cake is a little different but it has coffee as well, and the buttercream is the same! If you do not have the cookbook, this is a good option.
Chicken Burger Comparison (KFC vs. Popeyes)
Wanted to try the famous Popeyes Chicken Sandwich, but wanted to be able to compare it to some other chicken sandwich. I have a colleague who likes KFC, so here we are!
Starting from the packaging and presentation, there is already a noticeable difference. Popeyes looks very good. After tasting both, the packaging and presentation did not lie. In my opinion, Popeyes was way better!
Better bun (KFC’s was flat and doughy).
Better tasting chicken and breading.
Which is your favorite chicken sandwich?
Originally, the goal was compare it to the Jollibee chicken sandwich, but when I arrived to the McLeod location, the doors were locked, customers were confused ? and many left.
I thought it was a Covid-19 protocol and waited. Turns out they were understaffed. Also, turns out that in Canada, they do not have a chicken sandwich [email protected] please let us know when you add the chicken sandwich to your menu, want to be the first to try it!
