Welcome to Calgary, where can I help you? … This seems to be the greeting at the Help Center for immigrants that we could also say is the starting and meeting center for the immigrants. Latinos who recently emigrated to Canada, as it is where other immigrants meet, make connections, share knowledge and skills, learn about the work environment in Alberta, Canada.
and most importantly, they find a complete orientation in their mother tongue, so that their adaptation to the new kind of life in Calgary is as difficult as possible.
During our interview, we meet with the person in charge of the Spanish speakers and the Latino community “I want to inform you that I am in this position to guide, inform, support, collaborate with our community in general, and also needed our community to have the knowledge that there is people who speak Spanish ”
Some of the programs offered by the “Center for Newcomers” for newcomers in Alberta are the following:
“Family Development Program” For those Latino families who have recently emigrated to Calgary and come from Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico or any Latin American country and who want to meet other Latin families who speak Spanish, to share their experiences and give each other mutual support.
“Youth Program” If you are a young Latino between 17 and 27 with doubts about continuing to study or start working, this is the ideal program for you.
“EthniCity Catering Work Experience” New in Canada? Looking for your first job or job in Calgary? Do you like to cook? Through this program you acquire training and new knowledge that will help you find that job in the food industry or some restaurant with greater ease!
“Multicultural Peer Mentorship “- A 4-month program that matches Mentors working as professionals in their industry in Canada with Mentees who are professionals striving to find employment in their fields.
“Health Care Aide Training” Would you like a profession in the health area? This program offers you a 16-week course where you will learn how to care for the elderly.

In summary thanks to the Newcomers Center for helping each immigrant family that comes to her for guidance or sometimes just to let off steam and for someone to hear and understand the difficulties they are experiencing as recently emigrated to Canada.
It provides guidance and help to new immigrants in Calgary Canada and gives them the tools to learn to be independent and have a life as complete as possible in Calgary, Canada!
