Gambling Addiction – GameSense the Odds & Randomness of Gambling

GameSense promotes responsible gaming in Alberta. GameSense provides valuable information about gaming so you can make informed decisions when you participate in gaming activities, whether slot machines, table games, vlts, bingo or weekly lottery (lotto-max)

If you find yourself playing too much, or if it no longer feels like a game and more like an escape or a need, the Self-Exclusion Program can be an important first step to help you control how you play games at random.

What is the self-exclusion program?
The Program allows you to exclude yourself from all Alberta casinos and racing entertainment centers (RECs) and the gaming opportunities they represent and research has shown that when self-exclusion is combined with treatment, it can be one of the most effective ways to stop betting

By submitting an application to the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC), participants agree to be excluded from all Alberta casinos and CERs for a specific period of time. Participants choose the duration of their exclusion period: between six months and five years. You can not cancel or cancel your contract before its expiration date.

To access the program, visit a GameSense Information Center and speak with a GameSense Advisor, or consult a security staff member at any casino or REC. You can also visit the AGLC offices in St. Albert or Calgary, or call the AGLC Self-Exclusion Program Administration at 780-447-7582 or 1-877-436-6336.
